If you are still enrolled and receive a repayment letter, contact your school to verify that your deferment has been processed.
If your school participates in our Student Self-Service program, you can login from your school’s Web site or student portal to check the deferment forms and electronic notifications that have been sent to your loan holders. Check your school’s Web site or contact the registrar’s office to find out if your school participates in our free Student Self-Service.
If your deferment has not been processed, you should contact the Clearinghouse to request assistance. We will verify your deferment information and, if you are being threatened with default, contact your loan holder to request that your deferment is processed on a priority basis.
NOTE: Deferment eligibility is ultimately determined by the loan provider.
